There are pic's and a step-by-step descriptions.

Anyone else, modified their vehicle to carry the necessary gear??

Looks good Mountainman. I love to see practical solutions that are designed by the people who will actually use them. They always seem to be the most sensible and the most useful.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.

There is a wheel in the exact centre so this can hold a couple of hundred pounds or more.
Behind, I have some tools, large pry bar, shovel, ax and a few other things
under, flat tool case, to the right is now another tool case (older vehicles !!)
inside, emergency car kit, misc
ontop, misc gear
infront of closest to door, chair and lawnchair right now
 - lawnchair can be used as a bed, just hang tarp over edge of vehicle

My grandparents old cooler is there, to either hold ice or to be turned into a Thermal cooker/hay box setup. Right now it is holding some food items.

from a useless tool box into a very usable tool box, it now hold 3 bags of rice, 10kg each

I just tried to download the pics and it worked for me, might have been one of those browser glitches.

Also just click right on the image and it gets bigger, click again and it goes small

Another few good things to pack in there (looks like there's lots of room) is a spare rad hose and extra clamps, as well as some battery clamps. keep on rollin...

12v air pump and patch kit, booster cables etc
fire making materials and a couple of lightweight tarps to hang off the side of the vehicle as emergency shelter, with paracord of course

Let's try this again....attachement too big and would post.

Back in July 1982 Field and Stream did an article called "A Custom Pickup Truck for the Sportsman"

Everytime I look at this article it makes me think it would be a good BOL. It incorporates the idea of a cargo orgainizer....before they were really thought of.

It's a 5 page article, If anyone is interested in it PM me with an emaill address and I'll send it to you.

Don't have a link. Have original hard copy (remember "Pack Rat") and I do have a scanned copy I made.
