The US Debt Ceiling
« on: October 10, 2013, 01:26:48 AM »
If they don't raise the debt ceiling it will force the US Gov't to balance the budget and live within it's means... impossible.  If they do raise the debt ceiling and approve the budget it will prove to the world they cannot live within their means... catastrophic.

So the choice is between the impossible or the catastrophic.

The only way out is to start WW3 by means of a false flag event, destroying Iran to protect the petrodollar.... just sayin'  ::)

It will get raised and the usa will never default as they can print their own money to pay debt off. Debasing currencies collapse governments though.

What if this is a planned strategy...default blame the Tea Party for it...ste Joe six pack and his wife 2.5 up for a fall..

Most times it is not about money or greed..it is about power..and if the Us defaults they will have control over more then you can ever imagine...

IF they fail to agree to raise the debt ceiling another outcome could be for Obama to declare a State of Emergency and claim Executive power, bypass Congress and enact virtually any legislation he so chooses.

Taken from the Cornell Law School website

"Executive Orders

In times of emergency, the president can override congress and issue executive orders with almost limitless power. Abraham Lincoln used an executive order in order to fight the Civil War, Woodrow Wilson issued one in order to arm the United States just before it entered World War I, and Franklin Roosevelt approved Japanese internment camps during World War II with an executive order. Many other executive orders are on file and could be enacted at any time." This would reduce Congress to total impotence and irrelevance.

IF Congress failed to raise the debt ceiling he could then declare a national emergency based on financial failure, seize power and bring in whatever Executive Orders he so desired. This would be completely legal although could IN MY OPINION be the basis of the beginning of martial law in the US as well as a new civil war. Let us all hope and pray it doesn't come to this worst case scenario.

If you look at a list of Executive Powers (the President's) it is downright scary.

It is interesting to watch this played out in the media. The blame game and the finger pointing going on. Almost everyone is saying just pass the legislation and let everyone get back to work as normal. However it is not normal as they already have a 17 trillion dollar debt. They can't afford to pay the workers as it is. The debt will just continue to increase. Sooner or later the fiscal situation must be dealt with and it will be a very painful exercise. The longer it remains unaddressed the more painful it will be. Of course everyone wants universal health care but the fact is they can't afford it. How do you get across to the population that wishes must be realistic?

Government shutdown to end, default avoided.

Good thing, because otherwise those dependant on food stamps would have most definitely caused chaos if they went hungry.

Obama has basically allowed himself to go over budget by 2 trillion per year so far, but that has not been enough.  Now he has given himself a new trillion for the next 4 MONTHS!!  This is NOT a victory for the economy.

The “solution” is an incredibly short sighted debacle to try to maintain the status quo for just a little bit longer. The only victory is that at least there are some in the US that see the problem and want do something about it. Sadly they are the minority.

It all depends on the agenda behind the action. One tack would be... he has clearly shown the welfare slaves that HE will look out for them. The other elected officials created a situation where food stamp recipients were without their welfare. To them it would appear Obama stood up and "fixed" it. Developing a base perhaps? A dependent, welfare slave base..... but one that has nothing to lose and will, I am sure, fight for what they believe Obama will give them against those in society who 'have'.

OMG Who does he think he is fooling? Does he think we are all stupid or is it just him? How could Obama retain ANY credibility after that.

Rough guide but it makes you wonder why America is the focus. Numerous other countries should be in the pooper. England and Germany aren't doing to well.

This FED is out of control, doesn't care or investigate missing trillions... just how confident can you be that the ENTIRE system is not corrupt?
