WildE,

Religion/Spiritualism/Belief Systems

Are a valid topic. Heated yes, but as long as the trolls are kept in check, these topics will help some preppers. You have to have a reason to survive. For many out there a belief system validates their reason to be alive. From a prepper planning point of view, there must be a place for those who hold religious views very high on their list of priorities to discuss how to prepare for "godless" times and discord on Earth.

Just my 2 cents,

Mountainman.

The point of being a Moderator here is just this;

help to Moderate the peeps that come here! language, temper, personalities, Moderate..

no secret agendas to make it into the Gardening / Homesteading forum.

Is there going to be a religion topic or just wait until some posts crop up about the subject and then designate a spot for it?

I forgot about this post!!

In light of things, I will remove the whole topic, only due to the fact it turned into a Moderation test area and was not a true Topic area at all,
by ME... :)

Tell me where and how you want the Religion section, what do you want in it, or if you want it at all. Up to you!

In God I trust, all other prophets pay cash, and leave your weapons at the door.

I voted no to the religion poll.
I think we all either seek, or have sought validation for our prepping activities with respect to our own personal religious beliefs.   I don't see anything positive resulting from a group discussing or even arguing over the beliefs of other people whether they're preppers or not.
There are websites out there that specifically deal with religion and prepping.
I do however agree with the occasional discussion of a current event where religious beliefs have been brought up in defense of some one's actions.
I don't think we need a whole area set up for it though.
Just my 2 cents, and respect the decision of the group.

I agree with you Greenguy. A separate section would likely result in more argument than discussion. When topics do pop up they would fit in this board of debateable topics as they would certainly be that. I am glad that they are not banned though as from time to time prepper related topics with a religious theme do crop up.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.

I guess if someone wanted to know there is always a PM option. The split is to close to 50% to make a religion section. I suppose an ask/invite section may be an option for those who want to discuss it. Keep it to its own area without spewing over the whole forum?

Religous debate while interesting and informative is also the quickest way for a forum to destroy itself.  What starts off as a survival and preparedness forum ends up devolving into heated religous arguments.  I still opt for a jokes and funny images section instead.

A drunk staggers into a Catholic Church, enters a confessional booth, sits down, but says nothing. The Priest coughs a few times to get his attention, but the drunk continues to sit there. Finally, the Priest pounds three times on the wall. The drunk mumbles, "Ain't no use knockin'! There's no paper on this side either!"

Just trying to liven up the discussion
