All,
Curious when Yvon of the Yukon was the RCMP role model, he had a dog sled or snowshoes for Winter patrols and a horse or Canoe for Summer patrols. He had his pistol in a flap holster and an lanyard tied to the ring on the bottom of the pistol grip. I don't recall if he had a lever action rifle in a scabbard on the horse or in the canoe. Oh, and was the only Mountie for how many thousand square miles???
Back then the people respected and revered the RCMP........today, I am sad to say the RCMP in many location are out-of-touch with the people they are suppose to be serving and protecting........what has changed and why???
Remember when you were proud that the $50 bill had an image of the RCMP Mounted Ride of the back??? Or when you use to treasure finding a 1873-1973 commemorative quarter with the Mountie on it??
Where did we go wrong as a country??
