Cyber Security and VPNs
« on: October 22, 2015, 07:00:19 PM »
Hello Folks, I've been using an on/off vpn service for a number of sites I visit. Looking at using one permanently, I don't mind paying the premium, just want to know if anyone else here as experience with any of the different ones offered?

Correct me if I am wrong but I think VPN refers to Virtual Private Network

The official definition is "A VPN or Virtual Private Network is a method used to add security and privacy to private and public networks, like WiFi Hotspots and the Internet. VPNs are most often used by corporations to protect sensitive data." But basically it is used so that your computer isn't tracked and generally you can show your computer to originate from anywhere. Especially handy to get rid of that localized adware....
