Howdy All,

Are you finding that you need gear for your little one?? Prices at the shops scarying you??

How about building your own gear, that is sized to fit your kids....interested??

I recently built a new pack, that just happens to be kid-sized. Less than a weekend to complete the project.

Not meaning to burn any bridges, but I do not mass produce any packs. Thus, I have none for sale.

I mainly build gear for my family on a "when needed basis."

  I have been drawing plans for a PVC frame and pack, using tubes instead of fabric pouches. I thought of this idea reasoning that PVC is water proof, cheap, does not tear. However, like almost everything else, it is susceptable to UV damage and can become brittle. Also the tubes can hold water or other liquids as the need arises .Was also considering some kind of covering to help with this problem....Thoughts?

PVC tube frame pack is an interesting idea but wouldn't you have a lot of wasted space between the round tubes? I guess it would depend on what you wanted to carry in it plus the weight factor vs fabric.

A light coat of spray paint should protect the PVC from UV damage.

Would probably have to rough up the PVC with sandpaper first to let it stick. Wonder if that rubberized gravel guard would work.

Was also thinking of using rubber inner tubes to hold everything together. That would enable me to stretch it a bit and secure items in between the tubes without rattling around.
