+ 1 Karma for the blistered feet walk !!!
Excellent feedback, by the way what were you walking in as well as what types of surfaces were you walking on?
A few tips I learned in the military
for forced marches was the following as well as hiking on weekends for fun;
1. always wear two pairs of socks,
1b. preferably a moisture wicking sock first layer on skin
2nd for a few days before if you can the 2ndary work sock over the thinner sock should be worn a half a day or so. This allows it to be worked in a bit, flattened.
2b. When you put the work sock on the foot, turn it inside out. So the side your normally wear against you is now outwards.
3. Make sure your boots (I prefer boots military or high end hiking boots) are well fitted and broke in. If they are new, you will hurt.
4. If the boots are new, you need to wear them for at least two weeks before a march or..... ouchies...
5. Breaking in the boots or shoes is best done after a good soaking in hot water, then strap them onto your feet and walk and work in them all day.
6. It does help the feet to soak them in heavy mix of salt water for a few days before. The salt kinda dries up the skin and helps form caluses.
6b. Soak them in salt water the first night of the forced marching if you can.. see above ////
7. Needle and thread for blisters. Push needle through and leave in the thread so it continues to drain.
..... Second Skin ..... awesome to put over blisters
8. forget walking,,,, ride a bike if you can __________
