Canada - no new visas for West African Ebola affected countries.
« on: November 01, 2014, 12:57:16 AM »
Canada will stop issuing visas to people from the three West African nations where Ebola is widespread. This is not a travel ban but I think it is a precautionary measure that is a step in the right direction to protect Canadians.

It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.

I find nothing unreasonable about restricting travel visa's from any of the countries experiencing the Ebola outbreak.  I work with several people from all over Africa, in fact, on any given day, there are up to 75% of 19.  Many of these are from the countries most hard hit by the outbreak.  Whenever they talk of family just returning from a visit home or of plans to return for a visit, I wonder if this is where we get hit.
I've been told by several about how lax airport screening is and I picture the result of Ebola being brought into an isolated camp of over 5000 workers.  Call me paranoid but I have no problem with the government restricting travel visa's from these countries.
