S/A Vickers is a hero.  For all the anti-gun folks out there, let's remind them it was a good guy with a gun that stopped the bad guy with a gun.  If he hadn't acted as quickly as he did, things would have been much different.

This is tough for all Canadians as these acts of terror have come to your country and this is something that has always happened to others in other countries.   It is very sad for the families of these victims.  We all have to become more vigilant of our surroundings.  Please stay safe.

If this recounting of events is true then there are many MANY questions to be answered regarding the effectiveness of the police officers tasked with defending Parliament and the Members. Apparently 3 officers trained, armed and in position to engage an active threat, prove helpless to eliminate that threat.
THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS... ONLY OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOLUTIONS

A simple revolving door with a stop button would have trapped the shooter either outside the hall or inside the door itself.

I totally agree.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.

interveiw and talk of gun control..

But, on cue, MSNBC used the attack to push for gun control. Host Tamron Hall and Lee-Anne Goodman from The Canadian Press talked about how the terrorist attack might impact the gun control debate in Canada:

“Canada has pretty tight gun control laws,” Goodman said. “I think that’s going to become a debate.”

“How are these guys getting, apparently, double barreled rifles,” She said.

“Yea,” Hall responded.

Goodman then predicted the conservative party’s efforts to reign in Canadian gun control measures will become an issue.

“There’s an ongoing debate in Canada about the Harper government’s attempt to loosen gun control laws,” she said. “So that’s going to become part of the conversation, I imagine, in the days following this.”

Is it fair to assume that the dead shooter, identified as Michael Abdul Zehaf Bibeau, obtained his “double barreled rifle” legally? Or, that he would’ve called off his attack if he were unable to do so? Either way, no.

As former Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel infamously said, never let a good crisis go to waste. MSNBC never fails to disappoint.

dbl barrel lever action..?? lol.. dumb and dumber intervewiers

Lame stream media blunder firearms identification, again. Sad.
