When I finally get home for Christmas holidays, I"ll finish up my new forge that I"ll be bringing, and try my hand at some pattern welded stuff (Damascus) tommies and such for the meetup. I"ll be be there with bells on....lol

The plans for the annual Provincial meet are moving ahead. We have a date, a format am most importantly of all a location. The website will be updated in the next couple of week with all the information but I will also post it here. Basically it will be a three day event with mostly hands on sessions of three hours length.

This years Annual Provincial Preppers Meet, Ontario Preparedness 2015 will be held on the weekend of July 11th. This year the location will once again in Huntsville. However at not at the same location as the 2013 meet.

This year will be entirely a hands on theme with longer sessions. There is no cost for the event. Over the three days eight hands on sessions will be offered on a wide-variety of practical skills. Some of the sessions are repeated to give preppers the opportunity to attend all the session that interest them.

All sessions are three hours in length with the exception of the all day workshop on Friday and Saturday.

I would be interested in butchering and preserving meats, if someone ever had those skills. Not that I would ever get a deer, or moose to use those skills on.

That is a worthwhile topic for sure. The problem is that you not only need someone with the skill but also facilities to do it in and also an animal. Last year at Ontario Preparedness 2014 Bug Out Canada did an excellent hands with dressing a rabbit. Getting into larger animals has it's own set of issues.

There are two locations where events will be held. One is just north of Huntsville at a privately owned camp site. The other is on Crown land just south of Huntsville. The locations care not yen minutes apart and you do not have to drive through Huntsville to get from one location to the other, which is a bonus.
