Field Day with F.A.R.S.
« on: June 29, 2014, 09:31:10 PM »
Howdy,

Kinda quiet around here these days.

Well, I had a goodtime with the folks at F.A.R.S. (Foothills Amateur Radio Society) and the annual Field Day exercise. It was a busy couple of days - setup a portable mast with a Yagi boom up top, observe the licensed ham operators do their magic on air - digital and voice ( no CW this time around) and then return to take everything down.

These folks have their stuff together when it comes to operating radios!!

I have made the contacts I need to continue with my studies for my ham license.

So, if you want to be on the air, with your own ham rig - base, mobile or portable; I suggest you contact your local amateur radio club and get to know someone there. Lots of knowledge and folks will to share.
