I always keep a good pair of leather work gloves in my BOB. I have had to use them more than once.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.

For womens work gloves you might have better luck with carpenters or mechanics gloves, similar but much more form fitting and useful.

Went to the range this weekend with some people who haven't handled before.  We had some knowledgeable members willing and able to teach some proper stances and safety lessons.

Pulled the potatoes out of the beds.

Paid off the student loan (in the form of a rotating line of credit) that over the years became a computer loan/car loan/ trip to vegas loan, etc...  The Dragon has been slayed though after only a few decades lol.

My absence has been related to other prepping activities... a lot of landscaping and terracing in the backyard as everything is new, so we've been moving a lot of dirt, blocks, and rocks.

I wish I could say that the absence was due to enjoying summer but alas, it has not been  :'(

Started reloading shotshells.  Testing improvised load effectiveness is my new hobby ;)

Since I'm new to the site figured I'd give out a 30 day quick hit /// So in the last month:

- spent 2 weeks camping with the family, taught the kids 3 different ways of starting a fire & had them each prepare the camp fire on their own for 1 night each
- hand loaded out the 1st 200 rnds of .45-70 HP
- purchased a smelting pot & molds for casting my own bullet heads in .45-70 down the road
- got the 11 yr old shooting, does well enough - got to work on breathing though
- got the 9 & 7 yr olds cleaning, learning the parts & safe handling of the contents of the gun locker
- worked on water safety & canoeing with the family
- entered costing negotiations with a Krav Maga instructor for family lessons over the fall, winter & spring (we do a family education activity every year)
- acquired x3, 5 point safety harnesses through the barter system
- talked lovingly to our 1.5 yr old angus purchased back in May that's up for slaughter on Oct 7th (pretty steak, gorgeous rump roast, you look delicious baby....) & prepaid the butcher bill
- added 2 more fishing rods, reels & assorted tackle to the heap
Keep Safe - Twenty3rdPsalm

could repost most what you did to prep in the firearms section please.
Maybe start topic with training kids with firearms and add in some more info, it would be a great primer post for others starting with kids.
cheers
