I purchased some oxygen absorbers last week at the Provincial Meet. Got them from the guys at ontariopreppers.com and the price was good.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.

Picked up this little Kabar knife last weekend.  I've got some brush to clear, and wanted to do it in style.

I picked up 4 Israeli C4A1 gasmasks with NATO 40mm NBC filter cannisters.  I'd like to think they will never be needed but better to have them just in case the unthinkable ever happens.

rmac...where did you get these? was it approvedgasmasks.com?   I was thinking of purchasing from them....not sure what they're like.  Can't find anyone else really with the same variety though...can you comment on your purchase and give some info?

Thanks,

I picked up another two 10ft sections for my antenna tower. Now I have to install them. They should really help me to "reach out and touch someone" so to speak.

Apricots. Yes we just finished prepping 40lbs. Jam. Syrop. Fruit Leather. Even dehydrated some apricot halves. Some for our pantry, others for X-mas baskets.

Had our first batch of home-grown potatoes with the steak this last weekend.  Also had a greek salad with our own cucumbers but the tomatoes, squash and carrots are still embarrassing!  Oh well, we keep trying and hoping for the sun to eventually emerge.

I just learned how to make a 45# bow with schedule 40 Pipe, The YouTube...  Backyardbowyer. This guy gives instruction on how to make over 4 types of bows using PVC pipe and a heat gun. Very, Very impressive. Also on how to make the bowstrings for them. My next free weekend, guess what I'll be trying to make. ;) :)

Sometimes online is the prudent, sometimes the only way to go depending on where you live. I buy a lot of "heard to get" items online.

Have been living at a BOL for 5 weeks now so pretty much everything I do is preps but here is some of the juicier bits.

Shot a lot of paper the last couple weeks and found both my .22 iron sights were quite off... were good enough for tin cans and squirrels before but I'm very glad to have adjusted them now.  Fired a bunch of slugs and found the sweet spot... 5 shot 2" group @ 25 yds with 12g.  Also checked Remington #000 buck patterning at same distance (horrific) and am going to switch back to Hornady #00.  Made a bunch of wax slugs.

Picked wild raspberries for a whole day in known bear territory (saw 4 in the past week alone)... froze them (the berries ;D).

Scouted whitetail deer, I see them almost everyday but it's always interesting.  Walked to within 80 yds last night of neighbourhood doe w/2 fawns, sat down and glassed them then she started stomping and snorting.  I got up and started walking away, not only did she stand her ground but started following and warning me off for about the first 100 yds I retreated.  Gotta say I was concerned she was going to attack me lol.  This was the second deer to follow me this month.

Chopped and stacked lots of firewood, tried out new fishing spot (caught 12 rainbows between 3 of us and ate them all), mucked about with the greenhouse, continual training of horses, re-packed BOB, watching survival shows at night to get some new ideas.  Found an insulated pair of camo coveralls!
