Grandma here.  *waves from the Maritimes.  I am still in my 50s (barely), and until 2009 when the urchins at school gave me H1N1, I was healthy.  I now sport an ICD (fancy pacemaker with a built-in defibrillator). I am probably more a stocker-upper than a prepper, although I do like to be prepared for most things (an EMP would do me in in about 4 minutes, though).  I am a number one bread-maker, but not many other skills.  I am a realist (while you 2 are discussing whether your glass is half-full or half-empty, I will drink the wine) and love to buy MORE batteries when they are on sale. (can never have too many batteries or too much chocolate).

Grandma, (an EMP would do me in in about 4 minutes, though).

some people sleep inside an open style faraday cage, others have created a working room open, or closed style faraday cage, might look at that?

For those who don't know me, (those that Do, keep your yap shut, ;) ) I was a survivalist even before I knew what that meant, Always in the brush as a kid with a bag over my shoulder. Forever curious, and getting into trouble for it. I join the military, Field Engineers as they were called back then, The recruiter mentioned explosives, and heavy Equip.and I was hooked. I was with them for 6+ years until my arm gave out and then went to the Air Force side, for 13 years, and always making stuff that I wasn't suppose to,:). Most likely one of reasons I never got promoted much, other than the time that I punched out a Capt. when  I caught him hitting his wife. But such is life. Out of the military after 20, went college, got my diploma for Mech. Engr. Design Technologist. Help design some machinery, and tinkered on my own. Always had a full pantry, and stuff in the car incase. I never stop learning, and pass on what I learn, or try too. Learn, Teach, and Practice what you Preach.
We learn, We practice, We teach.
