im just wondering does Ontario only have opp or is the RCMP there to and what's it like for gun owners in the sence of getting a licence there do you go through Opp or RCMP
Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question

We have both, mostly OPP but there are certain areas with RCMP but very few. However there is a fair sized contingent in Ottawa.

Oh ok so for firearms stuff does it go through opp or rcmp

I could be wrong, but I believe that these things are handled by the RCMP through their provincial CFO offices.  However, when I had to deal face to face with an officer about a transfer issue I had a few years ago it was the OPP that I dealt with.  Apparently, the OPP will act as the enforcement arm when needed.

You have RCMP in Alberta. Just call them. Since guns are Federal, the RCMP is also Federal.

As a side note a buddy is going through the licensing process here in Ontario and after the course he had to send all the paperwork to the RCMP in New Brunswick for checks and processing. It was the address right on the application form he downloaded.

Yes, that is where all forms go thru NB.
