These weekend events take the best part of a year to organize. So Wild_E and I have set the date. We will consider a number of locations and start to put together a program. Once that is done we will start to look for presenters.

We are always looking for suggestions, requests and ideas so if you have anything you would like to see please let us know.

Also we are always looking for helpers, contributors and of course sponsors.

I'm looking forward to it already.  I would like to help in what i can.

My wife has a paracord craft business, www.getknotted.ca and she would like to set up a table. How much will you be charging vendors?

Do you have a digital camcorder / video machine??
If yes =

She would get a better price if YOU two could do videos for us, we copy all videos to a backup drive that weekend/each day and post them in the CanAm video section for the meeting!

Interested???

We are looking at rates now, there will be some variations in the rates with different locations.
Standard rates for a day or the weekend have yet to be determined.

Thanks, wild_E!  I do have a good tent and I am going to plan for it.  Her bday is on the following Monday, so her party can be the weekend following the meetup  :D .  Let me know what I can do to help.

Hey LP,
The offer for the tent is still there, just in case the wee ones want a bigger area or you want THEM out... LOL

We will be addin a list of things that we always need help with. Below is a short list just off the top of my head;

- Security
- Sign in - waivers - helper/overseere
- setup crew help
- tear down crew help
- Food area help
- Food prep and server for fundraiser ( offer from Ladie from the IPN to help, lost her contact number, lady with .22 cal rifle who's ex used for a jack !! wtf.. get rid of that guy !!!!) <please contact us here or email me at wild_e at hotmail.ca>
- Food prep helper
- canteen helper, can be food people
- Sign setup people
- Hosts - people who come earlier and offer their time to show peeps the layout, where to park, camp etc.. etc..

= Others, who might be wanting to help with getting advertisers / promoters / prizes / giveaways / spell checking & editing <website / Network/forum info / priinted material / handouts / press releases / meetup releases> /

Owing to dificulties encountered in the last two events, only ICRCC and myself wild_E will be the people who have the final say and are the Official Organizers.

We are looking to make this coming event funtastic as well as fantastic, we are shooting for a couple of hundred people to attend and participate. We are speaking with 5-7 presenters now, we have all day events planned for Friday and multi outside events for Sunday. (since this is Canada please bring with you, sunglasses and shorts, parka and fleeces, rain gear and shelters)  :P

* note info subject to change, some charges may apply, some kit lists may suggested, please read all details. Have fun, have laughs, learn and share these are the things we wanted when we first came up with this idea over 2 1/2 - 3 yrs ago.
Cheers wild_E and ICRCC

We now have a location for the Annual Preppers Meet, Ontario Preparedness 2015. It will be held in Muskoka. It is a great location with lots of camping, toilets , showers and thousands of acres of wilderness to play in. The exact location will be published shortly.

The plans for the annual Provincial meet are moving ahead. We have a date, a format am most importantly of all a location. The website will be updated in the next couple of week with all the information but I will also post it here. Basically it will be a three day event with mostly hands on sessions of three hours length.

This years Annual Provincial Preppers Meet, Ontario Preparedness 2015 will be held on the weekend of July 11th. This year the location will once again  in Huntsville. However at not at the same location as the 2013 meet.

This year will be entirely a hands on theme with longer sessions. There is no cost for the event. Over the three days eight hands on sessions will be offered on a wide-variety of practical skills. Some of the sessions are repeated to give preppers the opportunity to attend all the session that interest them.

I would be interested in butchering and preserving meats, if someone ever had those skills. Not that I would ever get a deer, or moose to use those skills on.

That is a worthwhile topic for sure. The problem is that you not only need someone with the skill but also facilities to do it in and also an animal.  Last year at Ontario Preparedness 2014 Bug Out Canada did an excellent hands with dressing a rabbit. Getting into larger animals has it's own set of issues.

There are two locations where events will be held. One is just north of Huntsville at a privately owned camp site. The other is on Crown land just south of Huntsville. The locations care not yen minutes apart and you do not have to drive through Huntsville to get from one location to the other, which is a bonus.

I have heard that Ashley is hosting an event at the ARK 2 on the same weekend. He is also calling it by the same name. Something he cannot do as it is a registered business name. Don't know why he would do that. It makes no sense to do it on the same day and we have been advertising our date for a year. I have sent him an email to se if he would postpone that meetup event.

It is less than a month from this get together, and there are still few details forthcoming. I am starting to think it will not happen at all. I had bookings in Huntsville, but will be cancelling them while I still can, without a penalty.
I think the other prepper meet was purposely booked on the same date, to siphon off some members from this site.
I wish you success, but without info, I will pass.

Can we please have some clarification on what is happening with this. I realize there are ongoing issues but nothing concrete has been posted that I am aware of, especially actual venues/locations for events and camping. "Huntsville" and 'crown land' is very vague for those looking to decide to attend. Also who are the presenters and sponsors? It would appear that some of those who may be assumed to be presenters are showing as being booked for both events. It is totally confusing and the lack of concrete, confirmed information is distressing to say the least. You mention that 'the other sponsor has replied but they intent to have their event on the very same day'. What sponsor? What event are you referring to? I am completely confused. It does not raise the 'faith factor' if you get my drift. I'm not trying to be difficult but I am sure I am not alone in my thoughts on this.

Maybe there aren't two events at all.  Maybe there is just one event with two groups battling for controlling sponsorship?

Thanks GG. You make my point. While what you say may be true, when you go to the different websites they are supposed to be held in different locations. One has stated it is in Huntsville and the other in Hornings Mills.

Note the subtle differences in the names for the search terms..

These are 2 separate meets. By posting the date of our meet, it gave the other guys the opportunity to use the same date, and last year's location, and similar program to confuse people. It worked! Two weeks left, and the Huntsville meet is still an unknown. I am sure that ICRCC put a lot of effort into it, but he got poached. Unless he changes dates at the last minute, I think everyone will go to the other meet. That is too bad, a lot of work was done.

Completely agree with you fleetway2. My concern is that even at this late date, details for the Huntsville meet are minimal. There is no information regarding the actual 'where' camping and events will take place. Also there are events and seminars listed but no idea who is presenting them.

It is very unfortunate that the third annual Ontario Preppers meet, Ontario Preparedness 2015, scheduled for July  10th, 11th and 12th in Huntsville was been cancelled. Although it will be rescheduled at a later date. The sponsors, Ontario Preparedness, Bug Out Canada and CanAmpreppers  saw no wisdom in have several prepper events on the same date. Although the date has been advertised for a year Ashley (Che) and Robert made the decision to put their meet on exactly the same days. Further with a play on words Ashley deceptively gave the Meetup event the same name. With Robert involved and by using our format from last year there should be a good line up of events. Hopefully Robert will be able to keep Ashley honest and will not be left covering all the costs like what happened to everyone who took Ashley at his word last year when he said he would contribute. Not only did he not contribute the $400.00 towards  covering  the costs of event he collected money from other sponsors and kept it. To add insult to injury while he was there he was short on cash and borrowed money from other preppers which he did not pay back. A really dependable prepper!
