when prepping for the elderly you need to look at their health status first, medication, nutritional health, mobility, communication.

Medication for the elderly need to know what they need to survive, is it essential, allot of medication elderly take are for comfort and if stopped can make it difficult related to pain control. the medication you need to focus on is the ones that control blood pressure, DIABETES is your biggest concern, heart medication, liver, kidney. this is why you need to assess the individual.

Nutrition, most elderly people can survive with 800 to 900 calories a day do to the limited activity the can accomplish. The main concern are fluid intake, fluid can relate to poor skin condition. Where nutrition can get tricky is allergies, ability to eat certain foods, can the person chew, can the person swallow, can the person feed themselves again it is and individual assessment.

Remember the harder it is on the regular person you need to times it by 10 for anyone with any type of ailment or condition.
