Good day of fishing
« on: May 19, 2014, 07:07:11 AM »
Keelee, bunnyluv926, and I were fishing yesterday, Keelee caught 3 pike between 4 and 6 pounds, bunnyluv926 caught a clam (lol) and I caught 2 small mouth bass. One is the largest small mouth I've ever caught about 6 to 7 pounds.
Bunnyluv926 is the first person I've ever seen catch a clam while casting a lure, kid has talent!

same lake?

Yes back to Depot...

We took a drive in the jeep to a couple of the other lakes

here is what we found

McCarthy's access road is flooded out again this year.
The one behind the golf course is accesible, but no boat launch
and Slipper is smaller but we may give it a try in near future.
Elliot Lake will have to wait until the weather warms up,the cold winds still pick up and since it is a bigger lake it offers no protection from those winds.

Today it is back to the grind for the both of. When I get home I have to plant more seeds, we put the begginner plants out on the back deck and the frost got at them, even thou we covered all of them with a tarp...we have lost a few and want the gardens filled to the brim this year. So back to square one we go.

have you asked MNR if the fish are safe to eat.?. I remember for many yrs, the mine tailings messed up all the lakes around there. i would think all/most of the fish had been killed, but it looks like theres a come back.. and probably some judicious  restocking

The lakes with mine tailings are closed down ..gates and access roads make them easy to read and you know not to fish in them..all other lakes around here have been cleared...
