Wild pig hunting
« on: June 25, 2013, 09:48:03 AM »
Finally a beast we can hunt without regulation, there's even a bounty. However, don't play around with them be as close as is safe and make sure you kill them, they are quite a nasty critter. If youre going to eat them, take smaller pigs(150-200lbs) The larger ones are quite stinky. Right after you kill them make sure the area is safe, before you go down to dress them (it's best if you have someone watching)After you've dressed your hog and have taken it home, half fill your bath tub with ice , put the pig in it,then fill with cold water, wait 2-3 hours, then scoop out the spaghetti(that is worms) do this twice and your meat is clean I do the same with bear. A doctor whom I used to hunt with in BC showed me this. We're going out tomorrow. Let you know what we get...

Looking forward to hear about the hunt.  Never seen a wild boar yet but they are really tasty so I've heard!

have not been on a Wild Pig hunt since I was a kid and visiting Texas with family.

Last encounter in Germany had a few putting me up a tree, while 3 or 4 charged and circled for a while, at least they had some fun!

Even though it was raining, my son and his friend each got one, I never got off a shot...Followed by lots of taking crap from those two. Oh well we'll do it again I'm sure. Both animals dressed out at around 80-100lbs.

Yeah they're just ungrateful. Truth be told I was laughing too hard to shoot. My boy's friend's first shot didn't put his pig down right away and he looked like he was gonna sh.t his pants.

Touchy subject the first one. As for the pigs they are spreading out quickly, there's a $50 bounty on them, and you don't need tags or a license, just the land owner's consent. Get paid to go hunting...does it get any better?

Just got invited to go and exterminate pigs, on a farmer's land about 1 hr away. Sounds like they're all over, killed one of his dogs and destroyed a granary. He wants to pay $25 a pig, and we can cash in the ear bounty!! How awesome is that? Gotta wait a bit, week or so....sounds like a vid for the channel. BTW these are wild pigs.
