I have heard that Ashley is hosting an event at the ARK 2 on the same weekend. He is also calling it by the same name. Something he cannot do as it is a registered business name. Don't know why he would do that. It makes no sense to do it on the same day and we have been advertising our date for a year. I have sent him an email to se if he would postpone that meetup event.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.

We have added one event to the meet, Basic Map and Compass. This one is always popular with many who are new to prepping.

It is less than a month from this get together, and there are still few details forthcoming. I am starting to think it will not happen at all. I had bookings in Huntsville, but will be cancelling them while I still can, without a penalty.
I think the other prepper meet was purposely booked on the same date, to siphon off some members from this site.
I wish you success, but without info, I will pass.

with the other event , that same weekend, I suspect deliberate subterfuge, backstabbing,
and when you include the same title, of the other gathering, it becomes obvious to confuse and confound.

is any one from the London area is going I'd be more than happy to pay for gas and mileage .  Rather than paying for a train ticket and grey hound , I rather pass that cost off to some one like myself who is a prepper .

I have attempted to contact Ashley (che) but he will not reply. the other sponsor have replied but they intend to have their event on the very same day. I will be talking to our sponsors and major presenters this weekend to decide on a course of action.

Can we please have some clarification on what is happening with this. I realize there are ongoing issues but nothing concrete has been posted that I am aware of, especially actual venues/locations for events and camping. "Huntsville" and 'crown land' is very vague for those looking to decide to attend. Also who are the presenters and sponsors? It would appear that some of those who may be assumed to be presenters are showing as being booked for both events. It is totally confusing and the lack of concrete, confirmed information is distressing to say the least. You mention that 'the other sponsor has replied but they intent to have their event on the very same day'. What sponsor? What event are you referring to? I am completely confused. It does not raise the 'faith factor' if you get my drift. I'm not trying to be difficult but I am sure I am not alone in my thoughts on this.

Maybe there aren't two events at all.  Maybe there is just one event with two groups battling for controlling sponsorship?

Thanks GG. You make my point. While what you say may be true, when you go to the different websites they are supposed to be held in different locations. One has stated it is in Huntsville and the other in Hornings Mills.

Note the subtle differences in the names for the search terms..

Clearly set up to confuse.

These are 2 separate meets. By posting the date of our meet, it gave the other guys the opportunity to use the same date, and last year's location, and similar program to confuse people. It worked! Two weeks left, and the Huntsville meet is still an unknown. I am sure that ICRCC put a lot of effort into it, but he got poached. Unless he changes dates at the last minute, I think everyone will go to the other meet. That is too bad, a lot of work was done.

Completely agree with you fleetway2. My concern is that even at this late date, details for the Huntsville meet are minimal. There is no information regarding the actual 'where' camping and events will take place. Also there are events and seminars listed but no idea who is presenting them.

Ontario Preparedness 2015 scheduled for the weekend of July 9th has been cancelled as a result of other events being held on that weekend. It will be rescheduled for a later date.

Maybe for new years, and we can learn some winter camping skills. I was always in Wainright the 2nd week of January every year, freezing my butt off doing winter camping. Now, my winter camping is fully furnished, with heat, and running water.

It is very unfortunate that the third annual Ontario Preppers meet, Ontario Preparedness 2015, scheduled for July  10th, 11th and 12th in Huntsville was been cancelled. Although it will be rescheduled at a later date. The sponsors, Ontario Preparedness, Bug Out Canada and CanAmpreppers  saw no wisdom in have several prepper events on the same date. Although the date has been advertised for a year Ashley (Che) and Robert made the decision to put their meet on exactly the same days. Further with a play on words Ashley deceptively gave the Meetup event the same name. With Robert involved and by using our format from last year there should be a good line up of events. Hopefully Robert will be able to keep Ashley honest and will not be left covering all the costs like what happened to everyone who took Ashley at his word last year when he said he would contribute. Not only did he not contribute the $400.00 towards  covering  the costs of event he collected money from other sponsors and kept it. To add insult to injury while he was there he was short on cash and borrowed money from other preppers which he did not pay back. A really dependable prepper!
